You’re invited to an evening of art!
Young Arts Arizona facilitates children’s art workshops in several area hospitals. Art making takes the children’s minds off of their current circumstances – whether they are not feeling well, in pain, scared, frustrated, or bored. The art sessions give them a break and help them feel better about themselves. This image was created by Ysabel, age 6.
For the Passages Gallery exhibition, you can enjoy art created by children hospitalized at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Banner Children’s at Desert.
Young Arts Arizona has started a new program at the Adult Daycare Center of HonorHealth’s Desert Mission. One of our talented teaching artists engages adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s along with young children in mutual art making. The art piece featured here was created in collaboration between 70-year-old Joy and 4-year-old Charlotte!
Participating adults are encouraged to use their imagination instead of memory, which helps them focus on remaining strengths instead of lost skills. Similarly, children release their emotions through their artistic imagination.
Our Artists-in-Residence are represented on their own gallery wall. The program serves to highlight the talents of individual young artists as a way to increase their positive sense of self!
This time you will be able to enjoy the outstanding art of Tyce who participated in art workshops Young Arts Arizona facilitates at Ryan House.
We have collaborated with Ryan House for years, bringing art to children on their end of life or life-limiting journeys.
RSVP required.
