DJ Vex

The late Reese “DJ Vex” Brown was a mix DJ, visual artist, and most importantly, a father. Raised in Pittsburgh and Virginia, DJ Vex moved to the Valley in 2015, where his immense knowledge of music helped him to build a reputation as one of the Phoenix metro’s top club DJ’s. He would often mix at Valley Bar and other downtown Phoenix clubs, curating a variety of genres, including Afrobeat, soul, reggae, world, R&B, neo soul and dancehall, among many others. In 2016 he re-launched his weekly radio mix show BASEMENT TAPES, which started on the East Coast, on Radio Phoenix, now known as KRDP Indie. DJ Vex passed away in February 2021.
